In the UK it’s easier to just buy a small hive of live bumblebees and place it in the greenhouse. They’re called Beepol hives.

I grow gourds and I …
I grow gourds and I pollinate them myself. What works best for me is a Q-Tip. Gourds have both the male and female flowers on the same vine. I just take the Q-Tip and rub it on the male pollin. Then I rub it on the female flower cone. Works eveytime. I grow different kinds of gourds so to prevent cross pollination by the bee’s, I use little twist ties to hold the petals of the flower closed after pollinating. Then the bees can’t get at it.

I grow bell peppers …
I grow bell peppers, tomatoes and other various vegetables indoors, so hand pollinating is the only way they will produce fruit. I have tried both methods the video suggests and yes they do partially work but what works the BEST is an electric tooth brush. I works 100% of the time and every flower I pollinated produced. I use a Phillips sonic care tooth brush, and use the plastic side of the bristles to vibrate right near the flower.

Hello …
Hello elementsintime and Mom!

I do not know if you ever check back to see the comments on this video as it is a couple years old…..But anyways..

Wanted to say thanks for this video, very well planned and video taped. Let me guess, it took only two tries to get it perfect! (Ha Ha)

I did look at your other two videos and was tempted to buy some bracelets to help the cause, but there was that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell Ad in there with it, which is a policy I do not support.

Good Work!
